I love the new wagering options at the track, especially the $0.50 plays. My reasoning is simple, cheaper ticket with deeper coverage.
The $0.50 Pick 5 at Hollywood Park was fun to watch this season. For this wager you have to pick the winner in the first five races on the card.
I came across this article from Churchill Downs that breaks down different Betting Ideas, Strategies and Budgets that could change your perspective. I found it great because it points out some different ticket options: $1, $2, $4, $8, $16, $32, $54, $60, $120.
What I wanted to test is see what kind of results can we expect from Hollywood Park with the $0.50 Super High Five play in effect and what kind of budgets should we focus our tickets on.
This question came out when I was asked which horses I liked for a Trifecta play at the track. I started to play around with the idea of doing a $24 Trifecta box, allowing me to choose 4 horses in hopes that 3 out of those 4 show up in the top three. (Hopefully longer shots knocking out the favorites)
